alternative road maps & subjective itineraries

result from the responses of 6 local creators to a set of questions about their places. It is intended that from these six short documentaries about Faro, Loulé, Quarteira and São Brás de Alportel will be made, which will act as alternative circuits to the usual tourist routes, constituting other ways of seeing the localities, by those who know them from within.

let us look at each other and let ourselves be appreciated by those who want to know us, more than to those who only visit us, through the (un)compromised looks of the creators. Responding to those who seek us, let us bet on our "survival" through difference, seducing them and giving of ourselves in what we have and are.

the purpose of these road maps is to contribute to promote a more intimate, more respectful, less intrusive and more informed, less superficial and, above all, less self-devouring tourism, starting from us, from our gaze. But let's not stop here. The challenge also involves that, together, visited/visitor, proposer/acceptor, start from the concrete, from the present (with incursions into the past), to think about the future and what is (im)possible, having the real as a spring to the utopian.

each of these road maps / itineraries, will be presented in the locality for which they were designed, integrating the shows of the national programming of this festival. In these events, spectators will have the opportunity to meet and confront the views of many: the results of creative orders in the field of performing arts (dance or theatre) and writing (texts that will be read live and illustrated in real time).
