Neptuno

Rui Neto

Neptune returns to Ossonoba, the important Roman city. What he finds is far from being the city he once knew. Everything has changed. There is the alfa pendular high-speed train and the intercity train, the motorbike club, the very expensive espresso at the Hotel terrace, the Horta da Areia that is worth more than 300 million and an Adidas mega store.

NEPTUNE is a Rui Neto creation. A theatrical project in the form of a monologue which arises from an invitation to create the Encontros do DeVIR festival. Faro is the engine of this proposal, inspired in ‘a delayed promise’, and the confrontation between ‘present, past and future’. The creation starts with the writing of the text and extends to the scenic device, which is an important element in the construction of the show, developed every rehearsal, giving way to the discovery of the scene and going beyond the interpreter's work.
